Background: Sources told Mealey Publications that on June 21, 2002, Pablo Riveros was moving pallets from a trailer at Hub City Distributors in Lawrenceville, N.J. Edward Klemmer, who was unloading beer from the same trailer, backed up the forklift he was operating without looking and ran over Riveros' left ankle and foot, sources said.Sources said Riveros sustained a ruptured tendon, a fractured metatarsal bone and hemorrhaging in the foot and had to undergo open reduction and decompression surgery. He also had two metal pins with an external fixator inserted into his left ankle, along with an arthroscopy and debridement of the ankle, sources said. Sources said Riveros now walks with a limp.
Riveros sued Hub City, also known as Warren Distributing Co. Inc., on June 18, 2004, in Bergen County, N.J., Superior Court.
