If we continue along the path of sanctioning secret settlements and eviscerating the civil liberties of the wrongfully-injured, it is almost a certainty that millions of additional Americans will die without just compensation.

The corporate wrongdoer which is created in the law as a fictitious person will become even more powerful yet less accountable than the real people who will continue to sacrifice their health and well being to satisfy the appetite for corporate profits.

Now is the time to act to insure that we do not repeat the sins of the past and pay the price of the loss of liberty that sets us apart from the rest of the world.

Secret settlements and protective orders that potentially impact the public health should be illegal.

Any legislative initiative designed to take from injured consumers their right to a trail by a jury of their peers should be rejected.
