
James R. Burn
Jim Burn graduated from Duquesne University in 1985 and received his J.D. from the University of Dayton in 1988 and has been practicing law in the Pittsburgh area since that time. Rated AV by Martindale Hubble, Jim brings over 20 years of experience in areas that include Worker's Compensation, Social Security Disability and personal Injury.
Jim Also served as mayor of Millvale from 1994-2005. During his 12 years as Mayor, Jim worked with Borough Council and others to pay off Millvale's debt and institute aggressive efforts in community revitalization. He received the "Mayor of the Year Award" in 1997 from the Pennsylvania State Mayor's Association, the Outstanding Young Men in America Award, and the Community Award from the North Hills Community Outreach. As Millvale's Emergency Management Coordinator, Jim directly oversaw and coordinated the immediate disaster recovery efforts for the community of Millvale after the flooding rains of Hurricane Ivan in 2004.
Currently, Jim Chairs the Allegheny County Democratic Party and has been a member of the Allegheny County Council since 2006. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Jail Oversight Board, ARTEZ Community Enterprise Zone, Local Government Academy and the Northern Area Boys and Girls Club.
As a member of County Council Jim Chairs the Public Safety Committee and believes that his service as a mayor and emergency management coordinator has been beneficial to this Committee.
Married in 1997, Jim lives in Millvale with his wife Lori and their two sons, James Edward and Brandon Patrick.
