Cohen, Placitella & Roth prides itself on its level of involvement in the community. The firm encourages its attorneys to become actively involved in academic, civic, cultural, political and religious organizations. As a result, most of our attorneys are currently serving in leadership positions within various organizations throughout the area.

Our work on behalf of the city of Philadelphia has included:

  • Vice president, United Cerebral Palsy of Philadelphia & Vicinity—a very special local organization that helps individuals and families living with a disability cope with an unexpected emergency, acquire needed assistive technology and adaptive equipment, and help people live more independently.
  • Chairman of the Environmental Advisory Council—reviews projects, site plans and ordinances, community education, and initiatives to ensure protection of the environment while enhancing the community.
  • Vice chairman of the Planning Commission of Lower Merion Township—promotes a rapid rise in the standard of living for people within the community by efficiently exploiting local resources that enhance the community.
  • Controller, the city of Philadelphia—conducts performance audits to determine the efficiency and effectiveness of city operations, fraud audits, drug forfeiture audits, and other special audits as requested which impact the city of Philadelphia.

Our firm is involved in supporting organizations that impact the community of Red Bank, New Jersey including:

  • Holidays for the Homeless and Underprivileged, Inc.—an organization which supplies thousands of needy children with toys and clothing throughout the community.
  • Veterans Transition Initiative—provides legal assistance, benefits counseling, mentor support, and a unique educational experience for all honorably discharged veterans in the state of New Jersey.
  • The Greater New Jersey Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
  • Atlantic Highlands Planning Board—an organization which meets to discuss whether zoning and land appropriation advances the health, safety, and welfare of the community.
  • Genevieve M. Hawley Memorial Foundation—awards scholarships and community service awards to deserving students throughout Monmouth County.
  • New Jersey Lightning—New Jersey's first blind baseball team.
  • Project U.S.E.—an organization that provides experiential learning opportunities to more than 7,000 young people each year within the community.
